Ferndale Band dedicates new bridge with an inaugural march...
24 August 2004

To help commemorate the accomplishments of the City of Ferndale, the Ferndale High School Marching Band marched across the new bridge in Ferndale to help the community dedicate the new bridge. Many people showed up on a cold and windy summer day to help mark the end of two years of snarled traffic and nightmares for downtown business owners. Many of the Ferndale Band members said it was wonderful to be a part of the community in such a unique and prestigious fashion. Steve Menefee, band director, said without the support of the community, music education in the Ferndale School District is not possible. “Our support of this community is vital to our long term success and existence,” said Menefee. “This community gives us so much. It’s nice to be able to say thanks once in a while.”
