Ferndale Students Return Favor to the Warden Band...
30 April 2006
The Ferndale Band had the pleasure of hosting a great group of students from Warden High School. The Warden Jazz Band treated our band and orchestra students to a morning concert today after staying overnight in our school. Their band, led by director Aaron Wagner, arrived last night at 11:00pm to a reception of Ferndale Band parents and students who were waiting there to greet them with a late night snack. After managing to watch the entire Monty Python's "Holy Grail" they got about 4 hours sleep on the floor before being treated to a breakfast by the band boosters. Then in the midst of a packed band room the Warden students played their hearts out with some great jazz and lots of solo work. Alex Crocker, Ferndale Band student, said "Their band is just as good as ours and, they only have 240 students at their entire school. I was impressed by that!"
The Warden Band had done the same for the Ferndale students back in October when the marching band performed the post-game show at Warden's homecoming football game. The Ferndale Band was eager to do the same for them.
We'd like to thank all the band parents, students and community businesses that contributed time and resources that allowed us to be good hosts to such a fine group.
