Zach Smith is currently serving in the role of brass and marching instructor for the Ferndale High School Marching Band. He also served in this capacity for the 2004 marching band season. Zach is one of the most talented musicians ever to graduate from Ferndale High School. While being a member of the band from 2000 to 2004, he was able to become proficient at all of the brass instruments and many of the woodwinds instruments.

Zach presently attends Western Washington University as a music education major. He currently plays Euphonium in Western Washington University’s symphonic band, performs on trombone in the 5:00 Jazz Band and plays French horn in a quintet. Outside of his college music activities, Zach is currently a 5th year member of the Seattle Cascades Drum & Bugle Corps of Shoreline, WA.

On the side, Zach enjoys composing music for small brass ensembles and occasionally playing video games. He currently resides in Ferndale, WA.
