Public invited to support award winning band and color guard with benefit auction, dinner
Ferndale, WA, 03/20/12: Ferndale Band Boosters will host the first annual Wild Wild West Fundraiser, a benefit auction and dinner at Kranz Koop on Saturday, June 16, 2012.
Doors will open at 5:00 pm to allow guests to browse auction items prior to dinner, which will be provided by Ferndale-based North Shore Catering. A beautiful assortment of items will be available for guests to bid on during the silent and live auctions, followed by a dessert auction after dinner to complete the evening.
Each year, the FHS Marching Band & Color Guard prepares a show to perform in competition, supported entirely by booster fundraising. Many hours of hard work by both students and community supporters go in to this show, including prop design and building, choreography, costumes, music, and more. The result allows students to experience the joys of performing at a competitive level across the state. FHS Marching Band & Color Guard also perform in parades and concerts across the region throughout the year. “We believe its activities like these that build character traits of leadership, work ethic, discipline and teamwork that our students need to find success in their endeavors,” states Steve Menefee, FHS band director. All proceeds from the auction benefit the FHS Marching Band & Color Guard’s competition and performance budget.
Tickets are $20 per person for a Texas style dinner, and are available to the general public.
